Thanks, gang. The house is his. I just merely work here. You can't come in without running into a photo of him somewhere. It's been a long day. I'm sorry...my heart hurts for you. Agreed. Because I have been there.

My dog died. Best dog ever. He was a black lab mix and was always by my side. When he was a puppy, I skipped lunch every day for 3 months just to go home and let him out of his crate. He was a great water dog. I filled the bath tub one time, I can't recall why, but he stuck his head underwater to pull the drain plug. Sat there with that stupid plug in his mouth looking proud. Another time he caught a bird with a broken wing in the yard and pranced towards us with it gently in his mouth. Wife was so mad at him but he dropped it at her feet and wagged his tail. Bird escaped. Wife and a bird rescue person spent an hour trying to get the bird out from between a couple of fences. Another time he went and got us, danced around with his infamous "follow me" dance, only to lead and point us to the water heater tank that was badly leaking. Christmas morning. 7AM. We about to go out of town but my wife isn't feeling well and needed a moment in the recliner. He sniffed her side and sat down beside her and looked at me. He did it again and looked at me. I took her immediately to the ER. They discovered her gall bladder had ruptered exactly where he pointed. I miss him. Badly. Best dog ever. He was 12. So sorry to hear about your dog I have 3 dogs and 3 cats and understand the love they give

Words can't say how sorry I am J. Your dog loves you when no else does. He never has a bad day, and the thing he lives for is you. He never asks questions, he doesn't bitch and moan. He just loves you unconditionally and it shows. No greater love, no greater bond is there in all the world that exists. Truly, we can learn a lot from the lessons that our dogs teach us. I am tearing because we have all gone through this and I would be so lost without my Nikki. My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry. He does complain and it goes like this, "Weeee, we, weeee!" Repeat. It means follow me so I can point to what I want and what he usually wants is a treat from his goody jar or to go outside.

Java, I am sooooo sorry to hear about the loss of your sweet dog. He sounds like he was amazing. Again, so sorry. And that little booger knew he was cute and amazing. He would come up to you and get in your face, wagging his tail, until you pet and rubbed his head. Once he had enough, he'd dump you and go on to the next person. Lord help you if you were afraid of dogs because he would know. He'd go get a mouthful of water and dump it in your lap and he'd keep repeating it until he felt you gave him the recognition of being the awesome dog that he is. My poor sister-in-law, we had to put up the water bowl whenever she came over. One of his many nicknames given to him by extended family members was, "male model".

I'm sorry...my heart hurts for you. Agreed. Because I have been there. We've lost several animals before in our lives but none like this. He was just so amazing. We don't have any children and we adopted him before we were married. He's our boy and he knew it. We're just devastated. Wife woke up at 2:30am balling. I'm barely keeping it together. Mrs. Java is your age, Castlekat.
