4Caskett, I'm so sorry for your loss. I lost my Max kitty to diabetes two years ago. I'm so sorry. Loosing a pet is like loosing family. Makes me tear up for you knowing how you feel. You'll see Misty again some day. She'll greet you with little paw padding

I wanted to share my pics of sweet kitties Genie, my queen of the castle, Danny, my ruggedly handsome prince, and Katherine Isabella Stana Simone, my youngest who fetches and goes by Katie or Tiger Princess, as well as Max, but couldn't get them to imbed.
All so sweet and wonderful pictures. Love seeing pets that are part of families!

She died before I could even put her down. My Dad was ill for a few years, but Misty was healthy and it was all unexpected. I'm sure I will see them both again in the far distant future.

I was actually reading this thread when my brother called. When I told him what I was doing he suggested we post our own photo. I reminded him we don’t have a pet and he said that my bride should just upload my photo. I plan on punching him when I see him again. Not too hard though, he is my little brother and I do love him, but still…

I'm sorry for your losses. Ours was just starting to decline so we took him to the vet for some procedures after his blood work came up clean. Unfortunately, his little system couldn't take it and he passed away the next morning but at least he was home. The loss is compounded with guilt and second guessing so it's been pretty tough but nothing compared to losing your father. My deepest sympathies.

This is a more recent photo taken back in July showing his white beard. It was a good day and he was happily playing hard with the other 3 dogs after getting a haircut. That smile is forever etched in our hearts.

I have 2 cats and when I figure out how to upload a picture, I will If you hit reply and click on the "Browse" button to search for your attachment, you can upload ONE photo. I don't want to speak for her but she will usually change your upload to an embedded image. Send her a PM and ask her first. I can do it also but not in your original thread because I'm not an administrator.

I don't know how to post pictures on this board, but I can tell you about my pets.
When I was a child, we had an Australian Shepard named Speedy. She was named after the first bull my dad fought.
Then we got a calico cat named Rosie or Little Rose. She lived for about 16 years before we had to put her to sleep.
Then our family had a Border Collie/Australian Shepard mix named Sydney, aka Syd, aka Sydney Roo. She was seriouly the best, smartest, most loyal dog. She never left my dad's side during his cancer treatments.
I have had 3 cats during my adult life. My oldest is Jasmine aka Jasmine Jo. She's a black and white tuxedo cat. She is 9, and she is one good cat. She's just a great companion.
Jasmine's buddy wasn't her littlermate, but they were born a week apart and brought home the same day. Her name was Maddie aka Maddie Lee. She was a calico cat, and died unexpectedly a few years ago.
About 5 months after Maddie died, I got another cat. Jasmine was so lonely, I could tell. So I brought home Bella, aka Bella Kate. (Yes, after Kate Beckett). She is two and she is a ball of fire. She is so funny and does so many crazy and slightly naughty things, but I can't imagine not having her. She is a long haired calico, and she's one huge cat. She's got such a cute little face!
Those are my pets past and present. Some people are not animal people, but my pets are like my family and I can't imagine them not being there!

OH boy, just wait til my husband gets ahold of THIS thread! He is a bigger animal lover than myself, I am certain, and THAT'S saying something! On top of that, his hobby is photography, and do we EVER have the pet photos! Wow! lol... I am going to look forward to enjoying this thread as soon as I get the time. I would LOVE to see everyone's pets! Java, your wife was born in a great year. She & I surely have more in common than our age, I can feel it. I totally understand your loss, and all that surrounds it. And, I have found, it doesn't matter how many times you do this, before or after we had the kids, our ages - nothing. Nothing makes it easier, and I"m convinced the next time we have to put down a pet, it will be just as heartbreaking. We lost our beloved Husky Mollie, two years ago this coming February, and she "found us" when the boys were just tiny. She grew up with them, and yes, she even pulled them on their sleds in the winter. Yes she did. She was our first family dog, and she was quite the girl! And, just know, that I understand what you mean, when you say that some pets just have that little extra something special. There are some that you just feel the kindred spirits. They find that deep, far-away place in your heart. When I have lost those special pets, the grief, at times, caused me to be inconsolable. I treasure our furry family, and sometimes when I lose them, the thought that they knew how much they were loved is the only thing that can ease the pain. Love, and time..... Sending much love to you & Mrs. Java.

This is our Nikki, our Boykin Spaniel. She is the official State Dog of South Carolina. She loves to fetch/swim and chase the Geese and squirrels on our Lake. As you can see, she is a bit of a clown and the best friend I have ever had. After my surgery almost 4 years ago now, she took it upon herself to walk me everyday and now we run around the lake everyday when I am not on the road. I absolutely love to throw the stick in the lake and watch her go get it. The best thing I can say about her is that when when my wife Pam is sick, she never leaves her side.
