Hi all. I haven't been here in awhile, but let me re-introduce myself. My name is Allyson, and I am a senior English major with an OBSESSION over Castle. Anytime I am asked to do a research project for class, I manage to tie it to Castle somehow. My last project turned out to be huge. You can see what I'm talking about on this thread. I'm currently working on another research project that involves the Castle tie-ins and "breaking the fourth wall" so to speak. I hope this is the right place to post this, but if not, feel free to move it. I'm looking for some people to fill out a brief questionnaire about their interest in the novels and how it relates to the interest in the show. If you are interested, please answer these questions, and send your name and answers to me at will1160@fredonia.edu. I would really appreciate your involvement. Here are the questions: 1. Do you generally read many books for fun? If so, what genres? (ie. young adult, mystery, detective fiction, classics etc.)
2. What about graphic novels? Are you generally a fan of them? If so, what ones?
3. Have you read any or all of the Castle novels, graphic novels or e-books?
4. If you aren't a fan of reading for pleasure or graphic novels (or even if you are) did the Castle books make you more or less excited to read them simply because they are Castle themed?
5. Do the books make you more or less excited about the series itself? Why or why not?
6. Have you ever watched another television show that used tie-ins like books the way Castle does? (What I mean by that is--are there other shows that publish real-life books that were featured or mentioned in the course of the series?) If so, did you read those? Why or why not?
7. Do you follow the Richard Castle twitter @writercastle?
8. If so, do his tweets make you feel more involved in the Castle universe, or more like the universe is "real" to you? How so?
9. What is your favorite aspect of the series Castle? What do you like most about being a fan? How involved are you in the "fandom," whether through twitter, tumblr or forum activity?
