Okay, so your guide is now 100% complete, but I wanted to make sure that I hadn't missed anything that you wanted to know about or learn how to do.
So this is a thread where you can reply with questions or concerns and ask for anything more that wasn't covered in the guide.
You can also ask general questions here as well.
So yeah, ask away and let's make sure you're all ready and comfortable to make the big move with us!!
As we've said, we're here to help you out with this and we're willing to take whatever time is needed to make sure that you're comfortable with the new site.
There aren't any major changes that we felt would be too difficult for you folks to deal with and the new features and look certainly made it an easy sell to us because it should be an easy transition with minimal changes but also with a lot of great additions with new features and options and a much more cleaned-up look as well.
Whatever assistance you need at all, seriously, just come right out and ask and we'll be happy to help you out!!

Always I just want to make sure that everyone has a chance to get a look at what the new screens will look like and where to find everything and how to work everything before we launch the new site. I don't want this transition to be difficult for anybody and I hope you'll all take the time to read over these guide threads and get familiar with everything so you can jump right in and start posting and enjoying the new look and new features. And, as we've said, you will have plenty of help around here when or if you need it!!

Looking forward to the new format. Ditto, Arky. I got lost about half way through the first explanation posted but I'll give it a shot and hope a light bulb turns on somewhere along the line.

Thanks, folks!! As for those who are slightly less computer literate, those guides should make more sense to you when you can actually log in and see the new site. And if they don't, simply let me know and I'll help you out!!

Thanks, everyone. Your appreciation is appreciated. Lol. Seriously, I'm glad you're all happy with the guides and at least mostly optimistic about this upgrade.
I know some will be worried about this switch and nobody ever really likes change to begin with, but I really do believe 100% that you will all be perfectly fine with the new site! You were all new here once, as we all were, and look how quickly and how well we've all learned our way around here.
The new site is very much the same as this one, just with a few new features that will be fun for everyone to play around with, some extra preferences and settings that will help protect you all and make your profile faster and easier for you to customize (or for us to help you customize / customize for you! lol), and make it easier to communicate with others here.
Believe me, even those of you who are worried the most will be 100% okay on this new site and while you may need a quick hand here and there or some answers to your questions, you will be flying through the site in no time!! I promise you that!!

P.S. For FjordMom... we do not have a GPS on the new site. Lol. But you will not get lost and, if you do, we will come and find you!! Lol.
And even if you did get lost somewhere in some area of the boards, you will always have your navigation bar and main header menu at the top of the screen, so a quick click on "Home" or "The 12th" will bring you back to the main screen and back to us!! Lol.
If all else fails, just remember to hug a tree and someone will rescue you ;D

Thanks for all your work on the guides for the new forum. I read most of them...well I scanned most of them...I usually just jump in and swim ... or paddle around. If I get lst I know where to go to get answers. I love new things so bring it on!

Q I am sure you answered this question.....I can't find it.....When making a post where the heck is the spell check button? The spell check is automatic now, like real-time spell check. But you'll have to check your browser settings themselves to make sure that it has spell-check enabled as well. As you type, if you make an error, you'll see a squiggly red line underneath the word that's spelled incorrectly. You will see the red line after you press space or use any punctuation mark to indicate that you're done typing that particular word, and then you can go back and change it or right-click on the word itself to see a list of suggestions for the proper spelling. I use Firefox, and I believe that spell-check is enabled automatically in that browser. If you have Chrome, I know you have to enable it yourself in the settings, then advanced settings, then language section (click on something like Language/Spell Check) and make sure there's a checkmark beside the option to enable spell-check. As for IE or Safari, I'm not sure where to find the setting, but it should be in a similar section in the settings menu.
