Congrats, congrats! Castle and Nathan! Sat transfixed ready as they started the Favorite Dramatic actress, heart pounding as they went through the nominees. Yay! Stana! Darn, my heart fell as she didn't win. Well, in my world, she's the winner.
We only got our double, not our trifecta, but hey, there's next year Congrats Castle!
I was tied up all day yesterday and didn't get to contribute my 2 cents worth after the wins! Heaven forbid that I wouldn't have my say
Of course I'm delighted that Nathan and the show garnered wins. I thought Nathan looked wonderful and did a nice job with his acceptance speech. I'm also glad that Jon, Seamus and Molly got to be a part of the festivities this year. I heard a story this morning that Nathan is the one who got Molly a last minute ticket and got things rearranged so that she could sit with him and his brother. It doesn't surprise me that he would do that for her. Speaking of Nathan's brother, I think it says something about Nathan's values and self concept that he brought his brother to the awards and didn't go looking for some beautiful woman to have on his arm just for show. In looking at the twitter pics of Nathan, Jon and Seamus, they seem to have had a fun night. I sure wish I had been in Julianna Dever's shoes, celebrating with the 3 of them!
In regards to Stana not getting the award, I have a few thoughts. First and foremost is that we, here at the 12th, certainly did everything in our power to put her on top. Our votes helped secure wins in the other 2 categories so I know we certainly gave her a huge boost. While I definitely think she deserves many awards in recognition of her talent, it seems like a lot of people simply have to pay their dues so to speak, and be in the business for a while before recognition comes their way. Because Castle is the first widespread exposure that she's had, Stana is still building a fan base and she was up against other women who are pretty well established. The fact that she was one of the final 5 speaks well of her IMO. I firmly believe that her time will come and I will continue to support her in any way I can. One other passing thought is that Stana would have had every right to not attend the ceremony after they were so rude to her last year.
So I guess I'm at peace that we sent a very clear message to the Castle team and the public in general that the show is very well loved and that their tireless efforts are most appreciated. I'll be resting up my clicker finger for next year
Didn't have a chance to catch up with everything until this morning. So excited for Nathan and the show! Would have loved to see Stana win as well, but as nathanfan says, she's not as well known, so it may take another year. Getting her into the final 5 this year was a victory in itself.
Loved Nathan's speech. He is so darn cute! He is sincere and funny all at the same time. So cool that he brought his brother with him. It's great that they are still so close. Love listening to his stories about their vacations together.
Let's see how long it takes the ABC promotion machine to start mentioning the awards in the promos. I watched ABC most of last night and saw the promo a couple of times but no mention of the awards. If I was in that marketing department, those promos would have been updated by Thursday morning with "winner of the 2013 people's choice award".
