ADAM: This awesome news wasn't enough? Fine, I'll let Jon Huertas share some more secrets. "Something crazy that I think people will be just so blown away by is that we're going to work with an FBI agent. That never happens," a cheeky Huertas says with a laugh. In all seriousness, the case, which involves the kidnapping of a Middle Eastern businessman's daughter, will be truly international. "It takes part of the team out of the country to Europe, which is something we've never done," Huertas says. Unfortunately, don't expect a romantic night out in Paris for Beckett and Castle, the latter of which will find his life in danger. "This two-parter is very scary for the team," Huertas says.

Ah ha! So maybe the place that they've never gone before and are likely to not do again, is Europe and not Alexis in danger. All of a sudden today, my whole idea of the 2 parter has changed. If Castle's life is threatened and the team is in danger and some of them are in Europe, then the idea of Alexis being at the center of it all is out the window. Maybe that is being held for the finale with a return of 3XK, if at all.
I can see Martha desperately seeking help from Castle's father if her son is in danger, but how will it all be revealed to Castle? So very much to look forward to!

Oh, that's just way, way, way too awesome. Considering how much the LA episode was previewed, with the initial reports about that storyline in the works coming out several months in advance as I recall, I can't believe we're only a few weeks away and just now hearing this. Going to Europe is big, even if they are technically doing it virtually. Leaving New York is pretty rare, and therefore always noteworthy. They must have written this episode on major deadline, which is why we're only just now getting all of this news.

Not to freak anyone out, but if this really does involve Alexis in danger (and I feel the need to say that we don't know for sure that it does), AND it involves Castle out of the country, the movie "Taken" comes to mind. I seriously hope it's not that.
Although, I have my doubts about Alexis being directly involved in this. We'll see.

I know it is unlikely that they actually filmed in Europe, but if they did it would explained why the last two episodes were kinda "Caskett lite" -- Nathan and Stana weren't available due to shooting overseas.

I'm pretty sure that episode 15 or 16 is being filmed now. 15 is the episode where the set accident occurred and the stuntman and guest star were injured falling out of a van. We might be on to 16 now as the accident was last week.

They wouldn't have shot in in Europe, D. Too expensive, too time-consuming, and certainly not something they could do with the super-tight schedule that they're currently working with. It's very rare for television shows to shoot overseas, especially episodes on the kind of scale and scope that this episode is bound to be working with. I'm sure they've built some great sets, though, and likely used a backlot at the studio to do any exterior sets. Throw that in with some great stock shots to establish the scene, and LA can double for pretty much anywhere in the world.
